Jay graduated with a degree in fine arts from the University of California at Santa Barbara, College of Creative Studies. He is an accomplished fine artist and graphic designer and has over 10 years of experience in the film industry as a Scenic Artist, Art Director and Production Designer. He has created set designs, murals, portraits and other special artwork for movies including Bull Durham, Coppola’s Dracula, Hook, Casper, The Flintstones, and Nine Months. His commercial credits include original art and art direction for Coca Cola, Bank of America, and Miller Beer. In addition to his work in theater and film, Jay has extensive experience designing and executing public and residential murals and in directing the application of architectural finishes. As a long time associate of Charlie White in Olio, Jay's credits include work on Treasure Island, The Dig and other Environmental Projects.
