Paul Barnard has a Bachelor Of Architecture degree from the University of Toronto, a Master of Architecture degree in Urban Design from Harvard University,
After working in Britain and Canada, he joined the firm of Web Zavata Menkes Housden and became a partner in 1978 and in 1980 moved to the United States to oversee the design of projects for their U.S. company WZMH Group, Inc. where he was involved in a variety of commercial projects in the Boston, Dallas and Los Angeles areas. In 1987 Housden Barnard Company was formed and he continued to be involved in Hotel and Office projects in California, Nevada, Arizona and Asia.
Paul Barnard started his own firm, Paul Barnard Architect, in 1995 and has a studio in Laguna Beach and an office in Irvine, California.
His current work includes renovation of hotels Tempe, Arizona and Marina Del Rey, and a new 250-room Hotel and Conference Center in Santa Clarita for the Newhall Land and Farming Company.
Paul Barnard has been involved in many high-rise and low-rise projects that include hotels and/or office buildings. He has worked on more than sixty hotels of all types and categories for many of the major hotel operators, including the Four Season Hotel in Boston, La Costa Renovation and Expansion, Hyatt Hotel Pelican Hill on the Newport Coast, Hyatt Santa Barbara and the Bel Air Bangkok. He and Jim have worked together on a variety of projects for almost 15 years.
