Route 66

Just as the memories and fantasies of Hollywood Boulevard are the basis for the experience of CityWalk, the memories and fantasies of Route 66 are the basis for the experience of “Route 66 - The Mother Road”.

By creating unique and ever evolving venues based on the Route 66 fantasy, visitors will discover places filled with memories that have become real: diners made from railroad cars or decorated to look like a chicken, souvenir shops inside dinosaurs, Burma Shave signs, restored vintage motels, signage that we all remember and personalized gas stations that have clean rest rooms and where the attendant washes the windshield and checks the oil.

Some of the concepts that have evoled from Jim's ongoing research and planning include redevelopment of historical areas on Route 66, the creation of roadside icons and artworks, attractions based on the romance of the open road as well as merchandise and events.
